Muddy Morning Coffee – May 9th
Mondays can be terrible for some people – especially me. You’re rushing to get ready, iron your clothes, feed the dog, and the list goes on and on. Sometimes, I really do forget to just take it easy and take my time in the morning. I can usually gauge my level of stress (and unpreparedness from the night before) by how much coffee I have left in my mug when I leave the house for work.
Which is where Muddy Morning Coffee comes in…
This series of post will be regularly posted on Mondays by myself or other contributors to help slow us down for the week to come. It is quite easy to get caught up in the chaos of stress and the vicious cycle of work-eat-sleep. I am an architect by trade and this profession is infamously known for the long hours, lack of sleep, and high divorce rates.
Therefore, I am hoping that these post will serve as a figurative speed bump – slow down or you’re going to hurt yourself. It will also allow me to catch myself up on the weekend and to reflect on the blessed time I was able to have.
It had been raining all week on the entire east coast and I was ready to jump at the first opening in the clouds.
Luckily for us, a part of western Maryland was seeing the last of the storms and would have the occasional sunshine – not to mention the DNR had stocked it the day before with a couple thousand trout.
Battling some rainstorms that occasionally rolled in, we managed to still have a great time – rain or shine.
This weekend, I also had the pleasure of testing out a new piece of gear the Filson Foul Weather Fly Fishing Vest. This post will come online a little later this week and will grace our website as the first one in our Gear Review section.
Enjoy and remember to finish that cup of coffee…
